The short version: PlanCrafters is an alpha product provided free, as-is, for demonstration and evaluation purposes. AI-generated drawings are a starting point, not construction documents — have a licensed professional review anything before you build or submit it. Use at your own risk. We collect almost nothing about you.

1. Terms of Service

1.1 Acceptance

By accessing plancrafters.com or app.plancrafters.com (the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1.2 Alpha / demonstration status

The Service is an early-access alpha provided for demonstration, evaluation, and personal use. Features may change, break, or be removed at any time without notice. We may limit, suspend, or discontinue the Service (including free AI usage limits) at our discretion.

1.3 Your designs

Designs you create belong to you. Plans are stored locally in your browser unless you export them. We claim no ownership over your designs or exported files.

1.4 Acceptable use

Don't attempt to abuse, overload, reverse-engineer, or circumvent rate limits or security controls of the Service.
Don't use the Service to generate unlawful content or violate others' rights.
Automated/scripted access to the AI endpoints is not permitted.

1.5 Intellectual property

The PlanCrafters software, engine, branding, and site content are the property of PlanCrafters and are protected by applicable law. You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to use the Service as intended.

2. Professional & Construction Disclaimer

PlanCrafters is not an architect, engineer, or contractor, and the Service does not provide architectural, engineering, or construction services or advice.

Outputs (drawings, sheet sets, schedules, framing layouts, and any AI-generated content) are automatically generated drafts and may contain errors, omissions, or code violations.
Before any construction, permitting, or purchasing decision, all outputs must be reviewed, corrected, and approved by a licensed design professional (architect/engineer) and verified against your local codes, amendments, site conditions, and jurisdiction requirements.
Building codes vary by location and change over time. References to codes or standards in the Service are illustrative, not authoritative.
You assume all risk arising from use of the outputs. Use at your own risk.

3. AI Disclosure

The design assistant is powered by third-party large language models (Google Gemini). Prompts you send to the assistant, and design state needed to fulfill them, are processed by Google's API to generate responses. AI output can be inaccurate or unexpected; verify everything that matters.

4. Warranty & Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PLANCRAFTERS AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES — INCLUDING CONSTRUCTION COSTS, PERMIT DENIALS, DELAYS, OR LOST PROFITS — ARISING FROM USE OF THE SERVICE OR ITS OUTPUTS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS (WHICH, DURING THE FREE ALPHA, IS ZERO).

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PlanCrafters and its operators from claims arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these terms.

5. Privacy Policy

5.1 What we collect

Email address — only if you submit it through the updates form, used solely to send you product updates. Unsubscribe anytime by replying or emailing us.
Operational logs — standard server logs (IP address, request paths, timestamps) used for security, rate limiting, and debugging. Retained briefly.
AI prompts — messages you send the design assistant are processed by Google's Gemini API to generate responses (see Google's applicable terms). We don't build advertising profiles from them.

5.2 What we don't do

We don't sell or rent your personal information.
We don't require an account, and we don't use third-party advertising trackers.
Your designs are stored in your browser's local storage, not on our servers, unless a future feature you opt into says otherwise.

5.3 Service providers

We use Google Cloud (hosting, AI), and Cloudflare (DNS, security, delivery). Each processes data only as needed to provide the Service.

5.4 Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
